Macally Portable Goose Neck USB Video Web Cam - ICECAM User Reviews

I use this with Yahoo Messenger and my Powerbook. The video quality is far from perfect, and its a little annoying that you have to buy extra software to use the camera with iChat, but I don't really need to do professional video conferencing or anything like that, so it gets the job done for me.Underside line... for the price it works sweet well.
- Rob

If it weren't for a fantastic tech personnel at Macally, I would by no means be inflicted including gotten the camera to bring about. They bent ended backwards to aid me get online including iChat AV. The tracking is gradual and focus may maybe be best but what do you estimate for the fee. It facility... and the goose narrow part is lingering ample to be noticeable privileged than my iMac cover. It woud be kind if here was a stand for it but in check over of the fact including the intention of give release worked if collectively frankly to the usb haven on the pad and not a hub, the goose narrow part will do. In anticipation of Mac reduces the fee on their iSight, this'll do me fair.
- Glenn Emond

You only have two choices if you're in succession OS X 10.4. You can get the Isight for $150.00 or you can get the Macally Icecam for in this area $30.00.The Macally gets the job done with just a few drawbacks. 1) You have to buy a driver online for which here comes a ticket when you buy the camera. 2.) The USB cable is only in this area 15in. long.
- Aaron Post "Aaron"

I am satisfied including my hold of the macally icecam and I can assertively urge this manufactured goods for the fee. It is VERY EASY to set up and use and it facility water supply; Even if, I took off 1 star for the following 2 reasons: 1. Opportunity lighting the the boards including the focus and the focus wants extremely delicate fair tuning - but it has a splendid depiction approximately calculate ago you everlastingly get it in focus and get the opportunity lighting aptly. 2. A separate software (hold, but release $5.00 w/ticket) looked-for for Ichat.
- E. Keiper

This webcam was easy to bed in and use. The depiction is not the greatest, but for the price it is amazing. I have had no harms with the cam loud Yahoo Courier, in succession with MacOSX 10.4.8 on an PowerBook 1.5 GHz G4 with 512MB RAM.The reins are easy to use, but you have to scroll down to find them. It might be nice in the possibility to have a break dialogue box void to chat exposure, frames per following, etc.Naturally, I'd give it a 3. But I'll say it again, YOU CAN"T BEAT THE PRICE. For that, it gets an extra star from 3 to 4.
- The Artful Dodger "Davey M"

I don't admit why, but I bought this webcam for my Mac thinking it was the only third party webcam with the intention of would bring about natively with iChat. If such a webcam exists, this isn't it. The Macally IceCam subdue requires iChatUSBCam (a further $10 piece of software you be inflicted with to buy, although you do get it for semi off owing to a voucher included with this camera). I don't know it would be inflicted with worked in Skype lacking the break iChatUSBCam software but I didn't test with the intention of.The driver bed in was painless, although it did leave me with an application in my Applications directory as well, called Webcam Mind, which seemed to do nothing at all.It works in iChat, I tested it between two computers on my home network, so the performance should be inflicted with been essential. My other Mac uses a built-in iSight and the depiction quality for with the intention of one was fantastic. Not so, with the Macally IceCam. It looks completely awful. The focus is never aptly, no matter how greatly I fiddle with the focus dial. The pledge is low, in any explanation, and the frame rank is even worse. iChat reported 15fps but it looked extra like low single digits. I would estimate between 2 and 5 frames per following. Worthless.I recommend getting iChatUSBCam from Ecamm and using it to operate one of the other well-matched third party webcams on the market. Or, if you be inflicted with OSX 10.4.9 or shortly, you can get certain Logitech QuickCam models with the intention of don't demand any bonus software to bring about with iChat.
- Michael Myers

This web cam is the release low-deprivation one I may maybe discover for a Mac. It facility water supply including Skype, which is all I sought after it for. It has no bells and whistles, but gets the job owing to.
- Doodlebug "hurdcat"

It facility with OS10.4.6 without export no matter what business else, although you need install an emotionally involved driver in your pad. To the best of my knowledge, this is the most evenhanded webcam for Mac users. The top of the webcam and the assumed role quality are not that splendid, but I find it satisfactory to show your family/friends how well you look.
- MR. CHICAGO

Transmitted video using Skype is OK. Not the highest feature but adequate. Purchased primarily to use on my Macintosh laptop. It did not work. However, works fine on my desktop mac. Skype will not work if the camera monitor software provided including this camera is activated. You must quit this application before using Skype. I like goose-neck design. Unfortunately, its video feature isf average to below average. It would be great if Macally improved resolution for this camera (or is there a further improved model that I am not aware of!).
- Gordon T. Shimizu "Gordon TS"

I bought one of these for my protect to use with iChat AV and Mac OS X 10.3. With the addendum of Ecamm's "iChatUSBCam" software (not included) it does work reasonably nicely, agreed the limitations of this USB camera and assuming you don't go into full screen mode. Physically, the camera is only just grand at all. The real camera itself is slightly less important than, say, a Bic lighter. The cable to join it to your pad is strengthened; you bend the wire like a coat coat-hanger to position the camera. The good business is this makes the camera infinitely positionable. The bad business is if you want to use this as a desk camera you'll find even the slightest trembling makes the camera wobble. I've establish that if you wrap the wire around a solid object like a desk help, the camera becomes significantly more stable. Of way, this camera is actually intended for travel use which makes all of this sweet well moot. IMAGE QUALITY: Image quality is clad for a USB camera but it won't win any awards. It does NOT like darkness or dimly lit areas; artifacting becomes a conundrum when lighting goes down. Agreed proper lighting conditions it produces an conventional image. The ring around the lens allows you to focus it, but since the aperature is so tiny persons with large hands may find it difficult to change. Macally has VERY good customer help and has historically been very Macintosh friendly. BOTTOM LINE: If you're looking for a low-cost (Mac-friendly) webcam and you're not terribly worried about premium image quality, this is a good way to go.

Polaroid IP350 Outdoor wireless IP Network Security Camera, Water and Weather Resistant, Sliver User Reviews

This is in effect a Foscam FI8905W with Polaroid branding, and a different lens (substantially different viewing angle). Even the web GUI is in effect the exact constant thing, with approximately ornamental changes. I was in the family tree way the viewing angle to be extra like my Foscam units, but it's extremely different. The enclosed space is rugged. The night vision is surprisingly good. My only complaint is with the intention of the viewing angle is rather narrow. However, the trade-off is with the intention of the optics are geared for a zoomed-in check over of a touch far dead. It would be good for monitoring a street, or a touch extra than 40' to 50' dead from the camera's location. Also noteworthy is with the intention of, just like its Foscam counterparts, it works quite nicely with the Zoneminder DVR logic, for us geeks with the intention of are into with the intention of sort of thing.Bottom outline: It is a rugged outdoor camera, and a amazing regard. Just be sure with the intention of your butt is rather distant from the camera. If you're monitoring your driveway, or your adjoin door, I would urge a touch like a Foscam FI8905W with a better lens.
- Amazon Customer

This device exceeded my expectations!! Quick shipping, easy setup and operation. I had this operating in less than an hour from start to finish. The alarm feature emails when movement is detected and it auto switches from normal set alight to night vision.
- John

I've got the camera effective, it is a bit challenging as it requires some information of networking. I'm by the camera out-of-doors. The picture is good keep for, for me the field of view is to forceful. Definitely need to mount it 30' or so from where you want to be watching. Some descriptions of the camera display it has the skill to pan and tilt. There certainly is nothing with the intention of came with the camera with the intention of would allow it to do with the intention of. Appears to be well built and is quite heavy. Will add to this review with it has been made known in the ride out for a only just any weeks.
- BillB

I would guess best feature from Polaroid. But for an entry level camera, it works. The sign are washed out. It seems the camera cannot see red in daylight. The 640x480 max pledge is just ample. The built in web ma?tre d'h?tel is confusing at best; Functions are placed under buttons where they don't be in the right place (e.g. Upgrade firmware under "Multi-Contrivance"). There is no signal might indicator on the wireless setup which is important for multi door point on large sites. This seems to be a rebranded donation of a FOSCAM.
- SSufficool

I got the camera and had it up and in succession in summary! Tested it indoors, and it seemed good, but very accurate up. Went outside and onto the roof of the garage to see if I could find a good spot for it. Sorry to say I could not. This camera does not give a wide view even even if the cinema in the description look like it does. So... Good manufactured goods but not apposite for my desires.
- James P. Eckman

In person, I planning it was vacant to be more trying to setup from what I've scan, but It was actually a breeze despite not being extremely intuitive. Had everything effective, connected wireless, and accessible over the internet including in a reduced amount of than 15 minutes. Granted, I'm somewhat tech savoir-faire and knew a thing or two in this area background up material like this. Someone else force be inflicted including a trying time including it even if.Overall I'm extremely pleased.

This Wireless Security Camera works very well once it is in place and setup on the wireless network. We have a small affair and have both wired and wireless cameras in our logic. Here are my observations:Pros -+ Feature; physically feature is exceptional, I dropped this from 5' and it nonstop to run just fine+ Image; on the best background, it is very crisp and clear+ Features; able to send grabs on alarm to email or FTP servers, set time of day alerts+ Range; covers most of construction+ Night Idea; quite clear even is complete darknessCons -- Clunky Web Interface; a little hard to steer but once configured it is just fineMisc -* Size; unit is to some extent better than probable, indeed not modest* Field Of View; very narrow field of viewOverall, this is a very good choice for an Indoor/Outdoor wireless security camera.Vastly Not compulsory!CFHNote; try out unit provided for assess
- C. Hill "CFH"

This camera facility just fine. Had no vex setting it up to view on the pad. Affect seems a bit on the warm side. Not bad but not very bracing.Wifi stayed collectively out to150 feet. Didnt try to go additional. It will work for my setup. Wish it had a battery pack....
- frank clenaghen

Some open-air scrutiny cameras for security use fluctuate with the ride out – when the conditions are optimal the camera works, when sub-optimal, the camera fails. Not with this very heavy duty Polaroid manufactured goods. Though it is not agreed what makes this so ride out resistant (additional than the bring up that it has a water-resistant casing) it does indeed bear up under extremes of ride out conditions. The installation does require a ladder (which is not included0 but otherwise everything needed to have this up and in succession in very little time and with smallest try is at hand. Placing the camera will depend on how much area you wish to view in the scrutiny arena – that is your choice. With the unadorned installation it can be operated and be the source from input for the notebook, the iPhone, etc and since it is on a wireless (WiFi) setup your tie to your area of scrutiny can be from anywhere almost the globe. One aspect that is not mentioned in the package insert is that this device is equally good for the indoors – your garage, studio, personnel, store, adjoining tennis incite to your home, anywhere. The fact that it is so well protected from the nitty-gritty only enhances its regard when placed where on earth you need security. An exceptional regard! Grady Harp, November 13

I be inflicted including had a very hard time setting this up including in cooperation Windows XP and Windows 8. Every time I try and use the camera on Windows Explorer in Windows 8, Explorer crashes when I use Active X manner for recording. Also, they tell you to use VLP Player but flush after you install VLP player it can't be found in neither Firefox or Explorer flush though it is show as an active plug-in. Very frustrating. I can get a picture but can't confirmation. The software and firmware in cooperation seem out of date as water supply and the book is the single way to get info. on this product as their is no aid on the internet.

The 5 Best New Songs We Heard This Week: Sam Smith, Priests, HAERTS

Another week, another onslaught of new tunes. To categorize it broadly, I found myself gravitating to a lot of electronic-based music this week, from Todd Terjes p e r f e c t Robert Palmer cover alongside Bryan Ferry to the 90s-tinged electro-pop of HAERTS. Get listening, folks.

Sam Smith Stay With Me

If youre not familiar with Sam Smiths name, his distinct pipes may bring about some dja vu: he was the vocalist on one of Disclosures breakthrough tracks, Latch. His voice is a little more nasal than were accustomed to in R&B, but to me that voice isthe it factor that makes him stick in my mind. That, and putting a damn gospel choir, a big church organ, and a string section in a pop single. SmithsIn the Lonely Hourdrops May 26, and I couldnt be more excited, frankly.

Priests Right Wing

I was going to write RIYL: The Breeders and Riot Grrrl. Then, on second listen, I caught something Priests frontwomanKatie AliceGreer says:Im not trying to be anything. The Don Giovanni act is indeed doing their own thing, though it nods plenty to the past. Worship me politely, Greer adds, and you know, with how good Right Wing is, I think she should get used to the bit about worship.

Todd Terje and Bryan Ferry Johnny and Mary (Robert Palmer cover)

Another reason to get excited aboutTodd Terjes debut album (which is comical to write, seeing as hes been disco-dancing in the limelight for ~10 years): this eerie cover of Robert Palmers Johnny and Mary alongside Roxy Music leader Bryan Ferry.Terjes Its Album Time isout April 7.

HAERTS Call My Name

I was very excited about electro-poppers HAERTS after their first couple of songs surfaced, especiallyWingsin late 2012. Last yearsHemiplegiaEP did not live up to the promise of Wings, frankly. So it comes with great pleasure that I see the band rebounding on Call My Name, a song thats a taste of their forthcoming debut LP. Think Wilson Phillips in their prime but cool.

Woods With Love and With Light

A psychedelic deep cut long enough to soundtrack rolling AND smoking an entire joint. Because its Woods, this is the title track of their excellent new album, out April 15 on Woodsist.

Logitech WiLife Digital Video Security--Hidden Master System Camera Latest Reviews

Logitech WiLife Digital Video Security--Hidden Master System Camera Latest ReviewsHere are three sets that are near like peas in a pod, and clash only in the type of camera: this one (obscure camera), the open-air starter kit, and the surrounded by starter kid. for more wide-ranging reviews, look at persons additional kits as well.As for my attitude, this set does what it says it does in a sweet faultless create: you bed in the software, plug the camera into the wall, plug a USB adapter into the wall and your pad, make some insignificant configuration changes and you are all set. I have no disbelief we may maybe have gotten a best logic cheaper but not one as seamlessly integrated. We looked at many uncommon systems and bought this one as a substitution for in view of the fact that:- most spy cams announce for TV...you then need a TV/VCR to confirmation, or a unconnectedly purchased adapter to make it work with your pad, and we weren't technically in no disbelief ample to want to buy uncommon pieces and map out how to get them effective collectively- some spy cams are self-tape (they potential memories internally) but these tend to be high-priced AND they homogenize how much you can confirmation; they will fill up if you don't apparent them out evenly, and for our purposes that wasn't matter-of-fact- most "wireless" spy cams work on a WiFi wireless arrangement, which is splendid if you have one, but we sought after this for use in a house we didn't have wifi; this one facility by transmitting over your home or personnel electrical logic.- the cost of the logic includes a website you can set up to view your camera in the least (even if if you have a firewall you'll only be able to mind 3 little pieces; if the logic can join frankly, which force demand configuring your router which some broadcast will find demoralizing, you can mind constantly). So, that said, here are some cons:- only facility on PCs, not macs- 95% of the configuration is a cut of cake, but some aspects are difficult, like how to schedule alerts, and background up for emailing alerts- the curriculum has many facial appearance that are in the curriculum but you can't click on them -- they are here as advertisements for a "platinum" translation of the software that expenditure $80 a year. It's grating to have a cover full of buttons you aren't able to click, and to have exposure be such a prevalent portion of the boundary- this one is kind of petty, but it would be nice of the timer that hides the camera had an timer touchtone phone logic, in view of the fact that we had to take out a "real" timer in house of this one- the camera is fine for wellbeing, but the assumed role is kind of extraordinary - it appears to be infrared? Which earnings the sign are out of the run of the mill. Reds turn golden-haired, greens and blues turn colorless. Which is doubtless fine for wellbeing purposes, but don't be in the family tree way to get a high feature record out of it
- Diana Carroll

I own several WiLife kits and have gotten fairly familiar with them. I was excited to try made known the hidden camera because I was looking for exactly such an option for my bedroom (not for whatever thing eerie even if). The single other option I know for indoor Wilife cameras is the WiLife Indoor Enlarge-On Camera DLC-810i. While that works well, the camera is fairly large and extremely noticeable. I tried to hide it in my ceiling, but was powerless to angle the lens extremely well. I then tried to conceal the camera in a shoebox, but that just left clutter. Flush if the hidden camera is a little big for an alarm timer, it doesn't take up too much room and works well if you're looking to hide it. I have used hidden cameras like this before and they permanently look ludicrous. Anyone who glances at them for more than 5 seconds can easily caution there is something "off" about them. This timer doesn't necessarily look like something you'd buy in the store, but it does pass the concealment test. The actual camera lens is virtually invisible. This wrap is in the end the exact same as the Wilife DVS800I LukWerks Indoor Starter Kit except it has the hidden camera as a replacement for of the indoor camera. For anyone taking into account the indoor starter kit, I recommend trying this one made known as a replacement for. The price is pretty much the same, yet you get on to the benefit of the hidden camera.

At at the initiation glance, sought after to yield this a 5 star rating, save pro here's approximately truly gone facial appearance. Is it a effective camera? No problem, it does it's career justly, save pro it may maybe of been so greatly more. Including this beefy fee tag, it must of been so greatly more.#1 - At conspire in, it's not password encrypted. So anyone can stumble to your pad, click on it and they would discover made known the camera which would ruin the function of Obscure camera.#2 - No timer touchtone phone logic timer - at $250, I would reflect they can come across the deprivation of to deposit an timer touchtone phone logic gathering. It would get on to the timer a allocation more genuine, tricky to infer a digital timer this exalted, this gray, so far no timer touchtone phone logic?#3 - The superfluous Platinum benefit - This is the genuine chump here. Functions including the intention of must be inflicted including been built-in - pan, focus, password entry, it's here, save pro you be inflicted including to bombard out more pro it, as if $250 pro a camera isn't ample.#4 - Must promote into roadblock - It's a wireless camera, save pro it must be plugged into the roadblock, building it no longer wireless.#5 - Outlook users - don't scare. It does not bring about made known of the amount, I couldn't conspire it made known. Fortunately I be inflicted including numerous computers at family, hooked it up to XP, complex is a breeze.#6 - Logitech sticker at the underneath of the camera - tricky to take out. Anyone including any information of the strain Logitech would at approximately calculate ago implication a in tears ill-treat here, as did Logitech initiation building cheapy clocks including no timer touchtone phone logic?Would I urge this camera? No problem, release since here isn't anything moreover on the market to the all-function broadcast. If you be inflicted including XP, complex is a breeze, pic. quality is clad, the obscure camera is water supply owing to, no theme how you peek at it, it's a timer, though truly gone the timer touchtone phone logic conspire. If they superfluous persons facial appearance mentioned, even at $300 it would be value it, save pro lacking it, it just feels be fond of an mutual manufactured goods.
- M. Su "More Dessert"

I had this for a good few months now. While it did work OK at the start, it ongoing to act up about two months ago, then absolutely quit some 3 weeks ago. I've been communicating with their customer benefit since but at the speed they are tender, not anything will happen for the next 5 years...While it worked, it was OK. The depiction quality was acceptable, worse than my Panasonic but usable. Not very easy to install.Every time the computer reboots, the cameras go offline and do not regenerate automatically so it becomes a waste of time if a storm turns your power off for even a few seconds. The remote viewing was alright, too. But you cannot pan or tilt the camera so you are restricted to whatever field of view you start with.Overall, it seems I just atrophied close to $1000 on this logic and it definitely does not give up as advertised.Sorry, Logitech, it's pure junk.
- ovimo "ovimo"

Logitech makes approximately cool equipment and the Logitech WiLife Digital Record Security Hidden Master Logic Camera is one of those very cool equipment.According to the documentation and marketing, it takes only 15 summary to set one of these up. That's not just so real though--if you regard how long it took to unpack the logic, set up the software at that calculate the hardware in a apposite location, be prepared to spend at least an hour. That understood, the entire process is simple and must not present much difficulty beyond thinking about everywhere to place and focus the camera. The wrap I got came with a camera, two transmitter/receivers: one connects via USB to the computer and the additional via Ethernet to the camera, a CD of drivers and software and an assortment of bits of hardware chiefly for mounting the camera.Installation of the software was straightforward and easy. Setting up the hardware was also straightforward; the included Quick Start guides and additional pieces of documentation was clear and easy to follow, complete with color illustrations. I was quickly up and functional. The bad news quickly followed.I have a wish catalog for Logitech: Would that there was a way for the camera to be completely wireless. Even with the 8-feet-long Ethernet cable, the camera requires a power outlet and is thus limited to being within 8-feet or so of understood outlet. The best place I could reflect of putting a camera (the wrap came with only one; more can be obtained for an average deprivation of $200) was near the top of my living opportunity which, of way, doesn't have any outlets accurate-by. With numerous different ways of mounting (on the roadblock using an included apparatus with roadblock screws and such, on a pane of dinghy with suckers, or on a desk with a stand), I guess there are numerous options, but it seems there was none I was satisfied with. The additional thing I wish for is that the features that a prospective user would find most helpful (such as remotely controlling pan and zoom; setting an automatic schedule for recording, etc.) are only void by subscribing to an $80 a year subscription to something called WiLife Platinum. All of these `non-features' say to my thinking of this manufactured goods austerely as `neat' but not very practical. I guess if I really needed such a camera logic, I don't know I'd spring for it, but it is a downside. The camera itself, without the Premium subscription, requires a manual focusing. Which is just great because two people are required for such a course of action: one looking at the WiLife command console and shouting to the person who most likely is erratically perched on a rickety ladder tweaking the lens. I can tell you that the depiction feature is pretty good and the skill to record numerous levels of feature is also reasonably nice. I could, for develop, point out to record at 15 frames per second or a reduced amount of; I could record at VGA or QVGA (640x480 with VGA or 320x240 for QVGA); I could define `zones' which means I could focus recording only on a specific, defined province. It is also doable to have the logic contact the user via email and mobile (PDA, etc.) alerts. To top it off, all of this is viewable online using the WiLife locate. Though, as I confirmed before, in order to get the more ripe (and, in my opinion, more practical) features, the user will need to subscribe to WiLife Platinum. The maddening thing about it is that WiLife command console is filled with references to Platinum-only features. The adjoin of the WiLife command console has a `zoom and pan' feature that figuratively screams "buy Platinum, dude!" each calculate the program opens up, which is on logon if you point out the defaulting settings. There are definitely approximately very cool uses for such a wrap but for the "average" user, I don't see this manufactured goods decent the bill unless as one of those "cool" equipment to have although it could subdue have approximately very helpful security applications.4 stars out of 5.
- Frederic Woodbridge "Fred"

We are using the system for 2 months now, and it does what it promises to do. We have one spycam and one indoor camera which we use to monitor our babysitter when she watches our children.Installation on our PC and setup of the cameras was very easy, indeed plug-and-play. The video stream images is clear although not too sharp. but good enough to recognize people and see what they are doing. It also performs well in low set alight. In my opinion good enough for a system of this price. Watching live video images on the PC, setting up email or text message alerts, watching recorded images and watching live images on the internet is also quite easy to do.The only part that was more difficult to set up is to make it possible to see live images on the internet in genuine time ("direct mode" as Logitech calls it). For that to work you call for to tinker with your firewall settings, which someone savoir-faire enough with computers must be capable to do though, with the firewall manual and aid from the Logitech website. Also you call for to install Microsoft Silverlight on the PC with which you want to see the cameras remotely over the internet (which can be a problem if you want to do this at your work: installation might not be allowed there). But if this doesn't work you can always use "relay mode" to watch the cameras over the internet, which means that the video stream will be 60 seconds delayed, and you can watch only 3 minutes at a time. Again good enough for me!Note that all cameras call for to be plugged in in an electrical outlet, since the camera signals are transmitted via electricity cables. They don't have any wireless cameras (If Logitech ever would add wireless spy cameras for this system, then I would definitely buy one and rate this system 5 stars!). Also their spy cam can only be used once, if you have more of these clocks in your house obviously it will look suspicious. (Could be Logitech can add other spy cameras to their team?)All in all this is a good and easy system to use, and it does what it promises to do. Highly recommended.

We bought this manufactured goods as my in-laws be in this world at an assisted living gift and were worried with bruises and pain with the intention of may maybe not be explained.I prearranged one of these units and as I expected and put it together, I noticed the connection for the power cable on the timer to be very loose. We planning walk down the aisle try it anyway and found with the intention of the slightest passage or brushing hostile to the power cable would disconnect the power to the click easily. With going to check on my in-laws and result the power off on the unit evenly, with the power cable still emotionally caught up, we drew the finish with the intention of our early assessment was correct and sent the unit in trade for a replacement. We had the same conundrum with the replacement as well and sent it in trade for a refund. The unit does not operate well under low set alight, so I would urge the IR set alight for help if you call for it for low set alight / murky situations. As we sent the unit in trade as defective, we were disappointed with Amazon for land in trade a portion and quoting their refund plan. We understand with the intention of in cases with the intention of correlated to a reason be fond of, "I only didn't be fond of it ..." why they would do with the intention of, but where we expected two defective units, we only expected ...... perhaps I estimate a bit to greatly, be fond of doing the right business. The unit was fairly straightforward to complex and connect, but had a very limited field of check over. All in all, we were not fortunate with the manufactured goods and hope they do further work on feature power in top and QC inspection before shipping.

I've had this logic for about 2.5 years. Overall, I'd have to say its hit and miss. Somedays it facility, some days it does not. Meaning the cams go offline a lot and you have to reset the cams, reboot your pad, or restart the mandate crucial point. This happens about once a week at smallest amount. And of way, this seems to take place when you actually need it (traveling, etc).I've also had to exchange two cameras with a year. WARRANTY is only good for a year on these and they are deprivation! I have 5 cams in total. The customer service personnel is very caring but they only have a handful of tricks up their sleeves (reboot, restart, unplug). So few, I know them by heart. My newest camera hasn't worked right since I bought it here 3 weeks ago and now I'm thinking about junking the entire set up. That stinks since I've invested so much time and money.Word of advice--just don't think it will be maintenance free. It's a lot of work to keep it working, and you'll now and again have to live with not every cam working by the book (especially the spy cams--they give me the most trouble).

Don't buy this product. It has been discontinued and there is NO service or parts available. I just purchased a new camera last month and the USB adaptor went out. Logitec says there are NO PARTS available for WiLife products. It took 3 hrs. on the phone including Logitec to find this out. I am now out $270.00 for the new camera, which I can't use and my $1000.00 security system is scrap.

I was expecting delivery in 7 days and was bowled over to receive it in 3 days. That was astonishing. It took about a good 15 minutes to install the software. After that I was up and running in a few minutes. The timer camera replay gives excellent quality for such a small camera and the budge detector is excellent. Replay is easy as 1,2,3. Dont forget to turn your camera sound off if any of your cameras are inside.Monitoring my camera starting work is so simple I couldnt believe it. I took advantage of a special discount to save selected recordings to the WiLife website. For the money is one of the preeminent buys I have always taken advantage of.

Aiptek Pocket DV Digital Camera, Voice Recorder, and Web Cam Customer Reviews

Aiptek Pocket DV Digital Camera, Voice Recorder, and Web Cam Customer ReviewsI bought this primarily for the record aspect. I wanted to take the record and burn it onto a vcd and mess about it on a 20 inch tv. This camera performs extremely poorly. If it were 30 bucks, maybe it would be worth it, but it isn't. Every time you mess about record, you can see the pixels. Also the insignia are VERY bad. They all be inflicted including a redish tint. Also i resolute to try out out the photo qualities and realized that they are also extremely poor. If you move it slightly, the assumed character becomes hazy and stark. This actually isn't flush skilled for whatever thing. Nowadays for this price of 60 dollars, you can get 1 megapixel cameras. Which go MUCH beter than this camera. It's vacant back to the pile.

This isn't a bad camera, if you dont want to take serious pictures. Of way you cant make any prints, keep for i took back a 2.1 megapixel camera and bought this one. I bought this bc it had a video feature, and being a ... gadget, i didnt estimate alot from it. it takes up to 3min 20 second video w/sound or 30 min of sound, 450 pictures. The pictures arent bad at peak feature, just use it online and on the notebook. Dont estimate to photograph these. There is no flash so use it in bright seats or in sunlight. if kinda dark, the video will have rosy color and wont be with the intention of great. This is good for beginners and ages 12- 21. It comes with good software. one thing with the intention of fooled me is with the intention of it said it had 128m sdram. IT ONLY HAS 16M. with the intention of was the only not effective side, keep for i was a fool for idea with the intention of in the initially place. Make this cam if you're new to cameras or just dont feel like paying paying [$$$] for a toy.

Got my daughter one of these for Christmas 2005. Compensated almost $32 at a local drugstore. Worked fine the first time I turned it on. Took cinema, a 30sec video (NO SOUND!). Was thinking I got a bargain!PROBLEMS START: Laptop wouldn't read CD, so I had to use my desktop to imitation drivers over to a thumbdrive. Drivers installed easily after that on my WinXP-Home Laptop. Using included software, device works GREAT as a webcam. Then I disconnected it starting the USB cable and it has NOT WORKED SINCE as a standalone camera. Will NOT TURN ON. Altered batteries, everything. Thought maybe a button was stuck...nope. But it STILL WORKS AS A WEBCAM when I reconnect it to the notebook by way of USB cable.PROS: Cute little camera (if it subdue worked). Takes videos (up to 200 seconds with built-in 16MB reminiscence- not expandable!)CONS: Videos DO NOT have sound...this is a BIG downer for a kid thinking she would be able to get on to videos of her & her friends. If you read the FAQ at aiptek.com they display it doesn't record audio w/video. This device will record audio (sound), but as a voice recorder, not as part of a video (seperate functions).DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA if you think it would be a low-cost way of getting a digital camera in the hands of your kid. Many people have had problems with AIPTEK harvest. You get on to what you pay for (in my case, I got less).

I bought this manufactured goods a year ago, and it actually is good while compelling still photographs and it worked quite well with online chat with windows 98. But lately i have downloaded the windows xp o/s ignoring the warns, And when I together this manufactured goods again to my pad, the pad fails to admit the manufactured goods. I am carriage this assess to give me key and not just to print it to your customers assess discussion. This manufactured goods is quite impressive but after this conundrum I have degraded it.

I bought this camera awhile ago but just got around to trying it out. I was able to bed in the software and use the camera, but when I tried to connect the camera to my computer, no matter what I did, I may possibly not get my computer to recognize the hardware. The device manager software will not recognize that the camera is even plugged in. I went to Aiptek's website and it turns out that this is a compatibility problem with Windows XP (even though the camera is advertised as being compatible with XP), but I have yet to find a key to the problem that works for me. I ignored XP's warnings about installing drivers that Microsoft have not verified, just as the Aiptek site suggests, but that only crashes my computer. Aiptek's customer support personnel has yet to respond to my email about this issue. I have read two other reviews that reference this problem: one with the key of plugging in the USB cable into the camera first, then the computer. This did not work.

bought this last night but would not work with my home edition windows XP. "Software not digitally signed by windows" message kept popping up promting to stop installation. So, although i ignored the message the camera by no means worked.

I tenderness this modest camera, to a top. You can take pictures, record ect.. "As lingering as you be inflicted with the EXTRA STORAGE", I can record voices (not be fond of a strip recorder save pro skilled enough) save pro I can release download my pictures and such I can not aid any of the programs with it, my computer is VERY NEW and it will not except the camera (I be inflicted with a additional lone INTEL "I aid it as a mess cam, with the intention of shows up on my computer save pro I cannot get the Pocket DV 3100 to overload) Mess cam??? Forget with the intention of; put on't disturb with prose the company by way of E-MAIL, they won't respond! We be inflicted with been tiresome pro weeks currently and still we are coming up to hear in trade! We be inflicted with three different cameras by them and none bring about as a mess cam! Skilled good luck if you hold this product.

I facility fair on my notebook, and the colors are also fair!If you see approximately redish or blueish affect-budge, you possiblyneed a differentlighting as I did, say a colorless-lightillumination.

Sweet skilled for the cash. Will hold 250 jpegs of VGA feature, ended 3 minutes of AVI (1/2 VGA at 10 fps) or 1/2 hour of audio single. Changes I would urge would be to make the microphone extra directional (machinist's voice is ended-modulated even as the subjects voices may maybe use some gain). Also, move the audio pin as I keep pressing it inadvertently. A little surpass power management would be kind too (the battery gauge is next to a dissipate of time). I be fond of the size and fee though, and the output feature is fair as lingering as you don't call for to photograph whatever business. Also, you call for their software to upload the photos/movies/audio to your computer. It would be kind if it was extra promote-n-mess about with anybody's computer, perhaps considering the camera as a further guide (read single, of way) as plugging in the USB port (though, to be rational, I'm not attentive of any competing manufactured goods with the intention of facility this way).
