First, if you buy this item use the software from the companionship website, not the CD software. You may or may not get software on the CD that installs without problems.Installed, the unit worked great (well, once it managed to by the book install on WinXP-Pro).The improper conundrum I ran into was that the Chinese rumor has it that don't feel like they have to adhere to Microsoft guidelines for APIs, which results in some logic destruction. The most obvious conundrum in my case is that Flash player won't work with IPEVO installed. I can either use Flash or IPEVO cam, but not both. Re-installing Flash Player causes the IPEVO to stop working, their software can't find the camera even if the USB subsystem detects it fine. I believe the side effects vary with logic configuration, one can't tell with dirty software. The greatest appeal is that the Chinese might have replaced patched components with unpatched components and opened security holes (note: I am not saying spitefully, just from developer incapacity to by the book code the software). Logic security scans (such as PSI Secunia or any of the virus programs) don't necessarily notice such cracks in security. If the Chinese companionship gets its software act collectively, the unit would be 5 star, but with the bad software it is not not compulsory due to potential security exposures. You may not care about such fine points, in which case the unit if not works very well as advertised. - M. Hocker "Roncalli and Luci"
by and large very good webcam, macro mode is good. here are 2 cons i can reflect of. one is that it can't confirmation videos with the software it came with, and 2 i can't use the driver from their website for some wits, only the cd that it came with. the pad is powerless to see the cam when installed with the driver from their website, don't know if any self else had that conundrum

I've been looking for a Skype webcam for a even as. This is just what I'd been looking for. Splendid price, splendid top. I too love the macro facial appearance - I've been able to show fine photograph in a assembly with Plates, draw clarifications on a cut of document and show them what I predestined *just so*.Easy to use. Love it.

this is a really unique webcam with unique and thoughtful point.Easy to hold. the pen-shaped shape makes me share what I see with my parents and acquaintances. For model, I can show my mom my new sofa by holding it and point to the living room without moving my notebook. That's really neat!!Also, with the manual micro function, I can show the document or the drawing to my colleague in the other country.so I would like to give it 5 starts and really want to recommend to others.I like it!! ^^

Ipevo Point of View Cam is my #1 choice for video blogging and chatting. It's easy to look like an amateur on Skype or video blogs. This cam makes you look like a pro. The flexibility & multi focal length allow you to trade show more than just your face - accurate up of a small product, how to navigate on a website, display text/pics in a book, a room makeover, etc. The color correcting features allow you to look untreated despite room lighting or background features. This is the cam I use myself, bought for every family member, and recommend to my clients. - Sarah Shah, Image & Media Coach, [...]

I'm half the time on the road, half the time at family. This is a splendid regard - in detail, we've got one for me, and one for family.I'm permanently out, but I aspire to keep in in tears including the kids. I tried a logitech 9000 and shelled out the $90... and it ruined at the airport in in this vicinity 15 or so living. I decided I looked-for reliability. I bought this little gem and loved how sturdy and compact it is. Straightforward to use, splendid chat feature. The kids have one at family, and they love how they can pocket it in their hands and trade show no matter what it is they're looking at. A splendid buy.

I've had this unit for numerous weeks now and my only complaints are that the USB cable is too short and the driver software (even the latest version as of this writing) is a bit squirrely.Cable length may be limited by signal strength, so that's somewhat of a nit. But the driver software is hit-or-miss on a power up or reboot. Now and again the New Hardware Wizard jumps in before POV loads (this is on XP). In that case the Wizard must be canceled and the unit must then be unplugged for a few moments. Plugging it back in usually causes POV to recognize it correctly. This is inconvenient but by no earnings a show-stopper. Works seamlessly with Skype, which is my primary use. It's also acceptable for recording video, although you may need to do some tweaking with Windows Movie Maker (or equiv.) to get the audio and video to line up.The persona quality is acceptable, but the utilities included in the POV package make up for any lack there. The snapshot and power buttons on the camera itself are also quite handy.Overall, a good product.

I've now gone through a good dozen of webcams, and that's one of my keepers. Here's why:It's the only one that'll enable me to sell my stuff on eBay effectively, chat, and travel without worrying. Those are really hard qualities to find in a webcam.Pluses:- Great macro, under 2 inches. I sell bracelets on eBay, and to increase traffic and bids, I put up videos of my bracelets. So I have to get close to it to show the intricate design. That's where 99% of webcams fail... and this one triumphs. You adjust the manual focus to macro, and tah-dah! The world can see my beautiful beads and how well they're arranged.- Great design and portability. I always move around when I chat. Sometimes, I want to show something on the floor, my cat sleeping, what not. So this is pen shaped: pick it up, point, and you're done. No weird shape, no weird nothing. Point, and you're done.- Cool off-button. Admit it - when you're chatting for a long time, you end up doing something else. You have to go pee, you have to answer the phone. I think it's better I don't share these little weird things with my friends. So I just switch the camera to off without having to log out or restart anything. When I'm done with my private stuff, turn it back on, and that's it!- Very, very reliable. I travel a lot, so my webcam is how I keep in in tears with friends + fam. This is the only webcam that's held up over 30 days in hand baggage and briefcases without breaking. It's easy to store, unlike a Logitech (they have the weird bent thing). You can put it in a cell phone pocket on your briefcase, or next to your computer without fearing it'll break in the plane. And that's awesome, especially at that price range!- Advanced features for Skype, which is what I use it with. You can send snapshots in an instant to the other person, and do all kinds of cool stuff!- TV resolution (640 x 480), which is the max any computer can deal with all through chat.- $39.99!!!! It's in my budget!!! :-)Minuses:- Not totally compatible with Mac yet. Works with Yahoo Messenger on it, but not iChat (the only 2 things available on mac right now)- Lighting conditions must not be too dark. Ok, I know, no one chats in pit dark, that's just an eye killer. But I planning I'd mention it.- Colorless balance seems off at era. It looks like the colorless is a little off on weird bulbs (I have old lamps). TIP: go into the control panel and do manual exposure/colorless balance. It'll take you 5 seconds. I found that manual colorless balance and exposure are better with all webcams because otherwise your webcam spends its time adjusting it, importance the other person sees you in shades of colorless and grey. Adjust it at the beginning of your session and you're fine - the other person will have a uniform color panel.

I like this modest webcam. It is the first I have purchased, and so easy to set up and you are looking at yourself on the watch in synopsis :) it is fun to share hellos with acquaintances and family tree on "Skype" andthe depiction quality is acceptable, to good. Not hard to set up, even family tree can and use!My kitties tried to help, but their paws didn't work. LOL.In any case, I give it 5 stars, as it does what it says, and I am pleased!I also enjoy the "macro" feature. If you do not know what that is,it is one of the reasons I ordered this camera.I sell Stevie Nicks style clothing and bracelets online, and like to take videoof the small and large pieces to help the sales. This Macro means you can do a nice "close up" of the crescent moon ribbon,or Wild Heart ring (shameless plug) and it is quite clear.Macro is a feature, ordinarily found on higher end cameras, so this was a nice bonus!

This is a fine product but it is a 32 bit device so if you have 64 bit vista you'll have to wait for an update 64 bit verson... could it occur soon!
